Professional Development for Security Officers
FITG provides NYS DCJS approved certification through DFTF, LLC (parent organization of FITG) for individuals wanting to become security and armed security officers. DFTF, LLC is a certified and approved NYS DCJS Security Guard Training School (#330815). We offer NYS DCJS approved General Topics Courses and Armed Security Training for candidates seeking to become security officers or armed security officers.
Students participating in these courses are expected to be in reasonable physical condition, capable of managing extended outdoor physical activity under various (and sometimes rapidly changing) environmental conditions.

Preregistration is required for all individuals who attend a recertification class. Individuals who fail to complete a registration form and remit the required course fee at least 21 days in advance of the scheduled course date, will not be permitted to participate in the training.
NYS DCJS requires that you receive a certificate upon completing your security guard recertification training. We find it difficult to meet that requirement unless we know who will be attending these classes. Please preregister and remit the class fee at least 21 days in advance of the scheduled class date to reserve a seat.
Management reserves the right to cancel and/or reschedule classes with regard to inclement weather and/or class size.

DFTF LLC Security Guard Training School Policies
Refund Policy:
Any student who cancels a course before instruction begins, will receive a full refund.
For courses divided between two days, the student will receive a 50% refund if requested before the start of the second day. For courses divided into four sessions, the refund schedule shall be 75%, 50%, and 25%.
Withdrawal during or for failure to complete a course after it has begun, will forfeit all tendered fees, extenuating circumstances may apply.
Students enrolled in the 47 hr. firearms training school will be entitled to an 85% refund if the cancellation occurs after the initial deadly physical force training begins, but before instruction begins for the firearms handling, safety, proficiency, and qualification component of the course. No refund is owed if the student cancels after the above cited firearms handling component instruction has begun.

Complaint Procedure:
Any and all complaints must be delivered in writing and be specific in nature. Complainants will be promptly contacted and a resolution acceptable to both parties will be sought. If an issue can be resolved to the satisfaction of all parties, then NYS DCJS will be contacted. Their decision will be final and binding.
