# SDS1-SS3 - Shooting Dynamics Series 1- Skill Set 3
Course Description:
This course expands the intermediate level in an intensive 4.5 hr time frame, by building on the skill set from
# SDS1-SS2. The course emphasizes use of cover/concealment coupled with multiple defensive shooting positions to function in various defensive situations.
Material Covered:
Strong hand to weak hand transition shooting, integrating use of cover, shooting from various positions: standing kneeling, laying on side/alternate side, fetal position, using various forms of cover. Developing speed from the draw, single and two hand hold. Flash sight picture shooting. Gun-eye target tracking.
This course will finish with an all-inclusive practical application live fire exercise.

Prerequisites:
NYS Pistol License
Students taking the SD courses are expected to have already completed handgun training beyond the intermediate defensive shooting level. This program series is not for novice shooters. Courses that will meet the prerequisite requirements are the successful completion of: [# 702] 47 hr Armed Security Guard Training or FITG [# CDHS] Consolidated Defensive Handgun Shooting or FITG [# IDHS] Intermediate Defensive Handgun Shooting or Armored Car Guard Training or LEO Firearms Training or NRA Defensive Pistol Course or NRA Carry Guard Level 1 Training Course or similar (you may need to produce certificates/credentials as confirmation).

Course Equipment Requirements:
- Revolver or pistol that is instructor approved for this program
- Cartridge caliber: Service/duty caliber, pending instructor approval (.44 magnum loads are not recommended)
- Suitable defensive/duty strong side holster (instructor approved)
- Semi-auto pistols require a minimum of 3 magazines and suitable magazine pouch. Revolvers require the use of 2 speedloaders and suitable speedloader pouch
- Sturdy belt or duty belt for holster
- 250 rounds of ammunition required
- Suitable firearm cleaning kit
- Eye and ear protection is required
- Elbow and knee pads are recommended
- Baseball cap or brimmed hat
- Shirt with collar
- Sunscreen
- No sandals or open toe shoes
- Bring lunch, snacks and beverage(s) for hydration
